Hello! And welcome to my Mid-Year Check-In. In this check-in, we're going to look at the numbers (how many books I've read, page numbers, age groups, years read from, etc.). I'll also be doing the Mid-Year Freakout Tag soon, so you can hear my thoughts about my favourite or least favourite books of the year so far - so keep an eye out for that!
Let's start with the numbers and some charts from my reading spreadsheet.
The Numbers
Average Star Rating: 3.6
Average Page Count: 382
Shortest Book Read: Emergency Skin by N.K. Jemisin (41 pages)
Longest Book Read: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (864 pages)Reading Goals Check-In
Next, let's check-in with the goals I set at the start of the year, which I didn't end up publishing this year, but I can let you know what they are now.
1. Read at least 150 books - Well, I've currently read 76 and we're halfway through the year so I'm pretty on track here.
2. Finish and catch up on more series. I haven't finished a lot of series this year, but I have made good progress on several already. I think this month will be a month of finishing series.
3. Read or unhaul the books on my Self-Destruct List. I created a new list of these at the start of the year and I've read 7 out of 10, so I'll probably make a new public list and post that soon!
4. Restart blog and bookstagram. This post is a good start towards this!
5. Read all my books that I've owned for over 3 years (2020). At the start of the year, I had 48 books from 2020. This is now at 26, so I've made some good progress so far.
I'm pretty pleased with how I'm doing for my goals so far this year. Work is still busy so I don't expect to be as active as I was in previous years, but the more I blog, the more excited I am to get back into these goals!
Keep an eye out for more blog posts from me soon (including my Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag). Let me know how your reading year has gone so far. Are you hitting your goals? Have you read any new favourite books? Let me know and have a wonderful July!
